Surf Conditions

Kabalana Beach & Ahangama, Sri Lanka · Updated every 30 minutes

Wave height ratings are sourced from the Open-Meteo marine API and refreshed every 30 minutes. A rating of 3 or above — marked Good or higher — signals conditions well-suited for a coached session. Farsan coaches on the south coast at Kabalana Beach and Marshmallows from September through May, and relocates to Arugam Bay Main Point on the east coast from May through September. Both coasts offer warm 27–30°C water year-round — no wetsuit required. The south coast receives consistent Indian Ocean swells while the east coast benefits from Bay of Bengal swell windows. If conditions are showing as good, this is a strong signal to send Farsan a message on WhatsApp and lock in a session for the same day or next morning.
